Each day is a new beginning ,each day ,is a new end.How long will this world be here?I don't have a clue!! I know some of you out there wonder why I have written what wrote, let me tell you ,I did also.So I went to see my preacher. He met me at the church.I brought with me all of wet cement, that I had written, since, one mans dream, started.I told him I thought I was losing my mind,He took my work back to his study to read it .I sat in the church down by the alter, and waited on him.IT seemed like he was gone for ever.He came up from behind,it startled me,guess I was lost in deep thought, and never heard him coming. He had a funny look on his face,my heart raced, don't worry my son he said, you have expereienced the Holly Spirit,He has worked thru you as an instrument, you have nothing to fear, the Lord moves in mysterious ways.I left him with a much better feeling, and a much clearer head.I new I was about to start a great journey, and I didn't know where it might end.I have spent the rest of this day preparing to write this paper.I realize when you write on the cement you open yourself to all kinds of potshots from anyone with an opinion."Flinhouse"I will delete your file if you want me to,but count on one thing,I'm sure as hell "saner" than I have ever been.Keep on riding that scoot "brother".Now I will explain the master plan. It's a simple plan.Given to me by an accountant from "Chicago" (Steve Townsend). All but the board of directors and the secretaries are contractors. You dont produce, you don't get paid.In this business you must be frugal, you must figure everything from beginning to end with all the variables.Lets talk about the basic cable upgrade. When you bid the job you need to know all the variables, you must research the entire project. If you bid it to low and get the contract. You will surely go under.Improper planning, mismanagement, micro management, and what I call personal time can break you. What is personal time ,its the time an employee waist, time is money.Solution,Contractors.the single biggest problem I see in the cable industry is in the planning stage, let me elaborate, mapping ,if this is not correct, it cost everyone across the board,if the asbuilts,(was, builts, should have been builts) are not correct, how in the hell,do you expect the new design to be right.Mapping has so many varibles ,it has to be right. If you hire a burger flipper to do this your "BANKRUPT".After the mapping and design stage we move into the Permitting and make ready stage,This is when the mother co. and you should put all of the cards on the table and come to an understanding.I have seen mother co's people stand in the way of progress. All it takes is for the man in charge from the mother co's side to get pissed off with someone. If they hold up anything, when you are in process,it cost all concerened. You must have respect as well as dilligence in business. If the man across the table is trying to break it off in you, especially if its behind your back, your toast,Industry has a way of operating with blinders on,you, have to put someone ,in management ,they can micromanage people within the realm of control causing a problem you will never see until its too late.Permitting'power supplys, and make ready can also break you.all of these things need to be well ahead of any splicers, sweepers etc.Trust in one thing, before, I or my people will ever bring you to a job,we will have everything in place..The warehouse, alot of money can be lost here,I will assure you you will hate me for paperwork.I will itemize everything to the nut ,bolt, connector, you name it ,I know what goes out, and what should come back in,You won't steal from us!!! I and my people will See to it that there is EVERYTHING you need to insue no down time.
To the contractor,If your a hack this is not the Co.for you.You will have Mock set up as well as a comprohempsive, speck manual to follow. The co.will provide you with everthing you need. Our specks are tight,We won't put up with imprefection or gigs or outages,"YOU WILL BE GONE, AND BACKCHARGED FOR ALL" Now let me go into what I will Provide you with, everything you need, lodging for up to 30 days'deducted from your check, fuel, deducted ,Truck,Ins.all you need,to be a contractor, deducted from your check. If I grow you and treat you right, why should you use me.If I have left something out please don't bust my chops, there are many people in this industry that know this sequence,But guarenteed the management of this Co. will not fail you.We are all contractors in this together,so lets get paid!!!!
I have contacted Carteret Community College about starting a new cable school for the contractor also,I'll keep you updated, also I am contacting some friends of mine that own some Charter Boats to see when the kings are running the best,to set up the Cable Industry Fishing tourney, this year, look for details on Tuesday,I'll will handle overseeing the arrangements,if you would like to help E-mail me.This is my last big editoral, the next big thing I will write is a book.(AT least the spelling will be correct lol.)If all that I have written has not reached you,you walk in darkness, but who am "I" to judge!! See Ya

Hey Maxwell - Give me a call @336-###-####. I'd like to get some information from you. I was told Bigham had Burke Co. I know Suncoast performed the last upgrade there, so it makes sense that they would be given the opportunity, if they did well last time. Anyway, if you can find the time to give me a call, I'd appreciate it. I am headed to S. Boston, Va. on Monday and I do not know if my cell will work there or not yet, but leave a message, if it doesn't, and I will get up with you. Later.

Oh, and as far as Protel goes, I have nothing good to say about them, so I will say nothing at all. Now that I am back in the field, I have had the opportunity to clear my head and get back to reality and I realize that wasting my time on petty shit, going back and forth with some dumb ass on here, makes me a dumb ass as well. The time has come to just stop the crap, get it while the getting is still good and enjoy what we have and get the most out of what time we get to be with our families. I would like to be the first to apologize for cluttering up this wonderful site, which is now become a tool for many in the industry, and hope that we can all get along and share information and ideas that will be productive for all of us. I was up on a stick, on the side of a mountain, with the sun poking over the next ridge, just thinking about some of the things that have transpired over the last couple of years, and my part in it, and realized that I have partaked in some really stupid shit! I apologize to any I may have offended, or irritated, with what I have said, or done, and truly hope that this site will get back to what it was intended for. Hope you all have a good week and make shit loads of money!

Hi all I'm having problems with my Telsta A28C retracting, usually when its cold outside. Sometimes it retracts real slow, then speeds up. Sometimes it wont retract from the boom or the base but the stow button will pull it back in. Once the day warms up its usually OK. Any troubleshooting tips will be appreciated.

How old is the unit.IT sounds like, maybe two problems.A sticky actuator, and a frayed wire, the first I would try to diagnose, would be the frayed wire, you must do this during the time this problem is occuring. It sounds like you are loosing ground,or a shorted wire.To determine this take the wire lose at both ends, set your meter on high ohms,if reads anything other than zeros, the wire is bad.If its not,its somethingng ground.A dirty connection, after you have diagnosed this,if the boom works ok but slow, check your relays, and take the actuator valve assembly, for that function, apart and clean it,it may need new o-rings.You might also change the filter on the hydraulic system. If this dosen't work look up the number to altec at www.cableyellowpages.com its in the vendor index.Call them and ask them for someone to help you troubleshoot this.Hope I have helped.

sounds like a old o-ring its cold in the morning,it shrinks and after it warms up it seats properly keeping fluid in its place. wires dont normally react from hot to cold

I think that we should agree to a limit on the amount of space that we take up at a single posting on wet cement.Does anyone else agree?
