Just wanted to clarify my coment about "Unions". I was not saying that subcontractors should unionize neccessaritly.
I was just speaking one "opinion" on maybe a solution to the problem.
Personally, the solution to this problem is "Subcontractors" & those of you out there that have been ripped off, walked over, played games with...etc. Need to "NOT LET IT GO"! The more they get away with it, the more they will do it!
I stood my ground in a few situations "including" this last bad deal! And "I will be paid"!
DO NOT let them get their "capitol to operate their business" out of money they owe you in invoices or retainage!
Read the subcontract that you sign! Make sure your butts is coverd in it "also" instead of just covering theirs!
Well, guess I said enough for now!

Weave strand? Now thats a good one. Been in Cable construction 21 years now. I know that someone out there can show me a trick that i havent seen yet. But it seems to me that if you could weave strand, the systems would stop buying splices. I need that clown to come out and teach me a new trick.

Gentlemen, This is how you weave strand, Strand is made up of 7 separate single strands, peal off 3, (keep them wound togeather) unwrap about 3'then, from the top bend the 2 ends over and make an imaginary loop, take the right strand and tuck it threw the loop and match the grain, then all you have to do is wrap it back up, to do a straight splice you unwrap both tails in the same manor, match the 3 with the 4 and weave them back togeather,try it.
