WATCH WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT THE CABLE UNION. I HEAR THAT THEY MAKE CABLE DOGS PAY ALOT OF HARD EARNED MONEY...LOTTTTTS... ITS GOING ON UP NORTH RIGHT NOW. TO THOSE OF YOU THAT TELL CONTRACTORS ANYTHING THEY WANT TO HEAR TO GET THEM TO YOUR JOB, THAT SUCKS! I HAVE BEEN A SUPER. FOR MORE THAN 8 YEARS NOW, AND NO MATTER HOW BAD I MAY NEED PEOPLE, (LINEMAN OR SPLICERS) I NEVER, I REPEAT NEVER, TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR! I TELL THEM EXACTLY THE WAY IT IS.... I FEEL LIKE THAT HAS MADE MY NAME IN THIS BUSINESS. I FEEL WE (CABLE DOGS) SHOULD STICK TOGETHER TO MAKE THIS WORLD A BETTER PLACE, (THE CABLE WORLD) WE ARE ONE BIG FAMILY AS I SEE IT, TOO BAD MOST PEOPLE DON'T THINK THE SAME WAY....

I was a member of the IBEW 33 years ago when I worked for Jerrold Electronics. I never saw one union representive, all I did was pay my dues . Don't kid yourself about unions, they are not the answer for contractors that want to screw you out of your hard earned money.Find yourself a contractor that is a good man, that doesn't do dope are drink too much and work like hell. You will make it if you work hard enough. Good luck!

Out of the pen on my feet and in demand , There is always room for a good man find a larger company give Them 100% and oppertunity will come Your way. NEVER SAY DIE!!!! The worst mistake a person can make is believing that all companies are bad. Each one has a dedicated group of people with the common bond of doing Their best. There is a shortage of honest hard working men, to have lost faith is a lack of confidence in ones own self. If You know You do the best go the extra mile treat the people around You with respect doors will open for You. The only place success comes before work is in the dictionary. Myself I ask alot of questions sort out the information think about what sounds too good ask for a written copy of pricing and look over the facts. YOU CAN BELIEVE IF IT SOUNDS WAY TOO GOOD IT PROBLY ISN'T TRUE!!!!!

Hey Chuck Davis, I too worked for Jerrold back then and neveer saw a union rep on the job. If you remember back then "Gander" L.C. Pace talked about getting the teamsters to organize the cable construction business, Thank goodness it never happened. Have you heard from Gander lately? I Would love to talk to him. John Dennis
