Sweeptek, I once heard that it was the RF storks that dropped of the RF signals to the Headend?

I thought everyone knew that the original concept of the CATV headend was actually inspired by an episode of Gilligan's Island. If it wasn't the makeshift ingenuity of the castaways, it was certainly the desire to watch something decent for a change.

satellite patrol I couldn't agree more. But on the other hand how are employee's to know if who they are working for is reliable.Someone who will pay on time, and not feed you a bunch of lies about the work you will be doing.

I usally dont attack people personaly BUT,I was just reading threw in house jobs and saw where Curtis Peetree is recruiting as usual. It makes me wonder how many people he himself has brought into the already flooded cable business. The last job I saw him on he had about 15 trucks. The problem is that every time one of his people gets to the point where they know whats going on they realise they dont need peetree anymore and go on their own.Mean while Peetree gos and searches out jobs so he can train all his newbees and puts expirenced splicers out of work because all positions have been filled with a large group of wannabes. Now he does have one or two who have been with him a while, I guess he pays them more So they can trouble shoot the rest of their work. One of his most expirenced "employees" cut a peice of fiber on a job I just happened to be on a couple of years ago. Now I dont have any thing personal against Curtis or his brother, I just hate to see someone Flooding the market with new people which will eventually effect us all with lack of work and low prices.

its a crying shame that every body says they have work but when you contact them they get srared if you have your own equipment and a little more time in the field then they do. were are the cable dogs going for honest pay for honest work???? inhouse or to another trade theres a bunch of subs looking for subs and one guy makes the money every one else works for free!

George, I saw that you have six or seven men looking for work, do you pay your men the same as you get paid?? Working for a Sub seems to be a problem for some, but IF I was out of work and a sub offerd me descent price, I'd go to work... .25/.30/.35 per ft. from a sub is the same as .25/.30/.35 per ft. from a prime. There are good people that are subs, not all subs are crooks. Be Safe/Peace!!!
