No,I"m not out of a job because I had learned that lesson long ago,the grass is not always greener.Remember a molehill becomes a mountain when it fills out a job app. a mountain becomes a molehill when it gets said job! I personally dont see how any companys can expect good linemen or splicers to keep movin from town to town after my 8yr stint I"d had enough, thats why I took a major pay cut to go inhouse.I also wanted to be home every night with my new son.He is now 11 and I dont regret my desision one bit. And I can still walk wood with the best.Maybe you should look inhouse, tech, cheif tech, head end tech, sales manager, install supervisor? What job could you fill? The posistions are available nationwide and I must defend the msos the pay is getting respectable. Now if we could get some retirement and benifits like the phone & power companys we would be o.k. hell I"d be halfway to the "American Dream" by now.Instead I"m buyin tools, lookin at trucks, and thinkin serious about contracting if the industry picks up because I just dont see my company giving a crap about me when I get to old to do the work like the young guys.So I figure what good is left in me I"ll reserve for my shot at the "Dream". Oh and by the way in over 15yrs I"ve never been out of work longer than three days.My work speaks for itself and my ability often precedes me,I generally choose where I work and for whom as such I will certainlly think long before replying to any more of your posts, you see you were going to put people in the same position as yourself yet you defend it as your job. Well I reckon that was your justly jailed bossmans job too!

Good Morning all,Swamp here is my 252-###-####or-###-####.Nrb#1 .I know what you mean about wanting too watch your children grow up.I have four,16boy,12boy ,8girl,2boy.Dad took off in December to stay home with the family,I went back to doing Boats, after 6mts.I've realized there is much better money in cable.Dad has too look at the long range view. Our futures! I've come to the determination if I am going to provide them with the better things in life I need to stay in cable. Its a hard decision to go back on the road, beacuse I love my family dearly.I don't care where I've got to go just that that check is 5g's plus expenses per week.I'll fly home.Oh well I'll be back later,Ive got someone here. See Ya

Just taking lunch,If you wonder is the five g's possible, just ask Wes,Hollywood,Roger Israle(hope I spelled it right)or Big Joe Brown,David Doole. They all saw my check stubs. The best week I had last year was 6700,a bad week was 3000. That was in Tuscon,VB was a different story. All I can tell you is you have to hunt it down and go where the money is.There are certain things I look for and certain things it cannot have.Let the old dog just put it this way, this is how I feel about things,if you come work with me I lie to you kick the shit out of me,If you lie to me expect the same.I don't put up with crack heads, liars or theieves or hacks!QC will be close enough on your ass you won't beat me out of a dime.Third time your shit gets gigged your gone.If you yellow flag my print wall and I am aware of the problem then thats ok,but I wont pay a QC man to keep going back.I don't baby sit people. If I sound like a hard Old Dog I am .I belive it this way "Business is Business and friends are friends. You can be my best friend but don't cost me on the job.I make no exceptions. See Ya

How come Onan starters always go when I'm up in the air extended out between cables? Has anyone ever had a starter go when they are on the ground? Also I was wondering in a couple of years when all the rebuilds are done what will be the next big thing, if anything.
