while the last post were meant as a bit of humor on a serious note i am trying for a fresh water pearl francise. this could be a very big deal as the oysters measure about 10" across. the pearls them selvs must be humongus. the only pitfall is that they live in streams i guess because they are mostly found in the rockie mtn's. i will need about 2 million to get project going please call if interested. hurry a deal like this wont last long.

This biz must truly suck as I SUSPECTED.Really this industry has a habit of chewing people up & spitting them out. After 15+ yrs in house I was contemplating sub work. Sick of spicing/sweeping 2grand day for 200$ Y"all know how it is,after calling several old DAWGS today to try & put top CO together EVERYBODY HAS QUIT!!! I must be hard headed? These guys were pros top hooks from back in the day,we built 2 amps day off hooks EVERY day 450 mghz. These guys were no slackers we had few if any gigs I remember one JERK still in biz by way checking lashing wire with binos!! Bet he cant fix it!!! By way this guy was working for Cardinal in Ind. here he is still there, he threatened to get bucket & microscope on us real winner this guy.Anyhow I was saddened by the loss & bitterness of these ex linedogs I hope the industry can afford losses like these because everyday I"m seeing the real pros leave and it hurts, it hurts us all. These are the men who train the greenhorns these are the guys (MSO"S you listening?) Y"ALL call on those easement jobs your sissy hydrolic linemen cant do.(BY THE WAY CANT NEVER COULD BECAUSE IT DIDNT WANT TO)Well I hate it but it leaves room for me think I"ll cheek my gaffs raise my climbin prices & keep on keepen on my baby needs a new pair of shoes

I'm out! He, he, hotdamn, I'm out! I finally found a way out of cable... My uncle-in-law offered me his construction buis. He's too old now to run things any more, I hope everything pans out. I just could not stand being away from my family any more. Hell, I've had five homes in three states in the last year. I guess I'll keep pokin' my head in every once in a while to see how ya'll are doin'. I forsee a lucrative future in my new/old line of work, but more importantly I will be home every night with my family. I wish the best of luck to you all, and I hope the industry picks up soon so everyone can stay busy and keep the bills paid. My hat goes off to everyone that sticks through it, dealing with all of the "cable crap". Maybe I will come back in some day, but not for awhile. Good luck every one, and be safe!

Ah satellitepatrol strikes again! "Rocky Mtn. Oysters?"..You have to think about it but as far as being lucrative remember that Beer Nuts go for about $1.50 a bag while Deer Nuts are under a "buck"

Good morning all,as I sit and read postings by employers and I wonder to myself do they just like to get phone calls?I see some that properly post to save themselves aggravation,I have compiled some Questions you should ask before you go to a job (SPLICERS),if I leave something out ,maybe another dog will add to the list.#1 Are you the prime or a sub?#2Who is the mother co.?#3How many miles do you have?#3.5 What are your insurance requirements? #4 Is the job just starting or on going?#5Whats the price?#6How long is the turn around on the money?#8What is your retanage cap,and how long will it take for me to get it back once the job is complete?#9What type of cable and equipment?#10How much equipment do you have in your warehouse?#11Do you have enough pads and eq's?#12 Do I get truck stock?#13How close are the prints on new design to the asbuilts?#14Do I get a copy of the asbuilts?#15 What hrs and days can I work?#16How much areial how much underground?#17 How much easment, front or rear?#18 Is the fiber up,are the nodes lit?#19 How much turn around is there?#20 Are all the power supplys in place?#21How many megs is the system?#22 How much free work is there?#23Is there a line Item price for everthing(THIS ONE IS REAL IMPORTANT)!! You can lose your ass over this one!!Make sure everything has a price, things like bonds, grounds, verticles, tree trim, cactus removal, peds, risers, hand dig, straight splices, filters, drops, mdu's,etc.and so on.#24 Is their a place to park my trucks in a fence?#25 How far is the job site from the warehouse?#26What is the cost of living there(Food,Gas Lodging)?#27 How tight are the specks?#28 How much dress up at each location?#29Are shorts allowed in the summer time?#30What is an average span length?#31 How is the work handed out?#32 Is all of the cable placement well ahead of the splicers? There are probably some things I missed,These are questions a splicer would ask, there would be a different set for each facet of cable.I know there is alot of splicers looking for work right now,and the work is starting to show up,when you see all the construction, well we all know what comes next!I hope in listing these things, maybe I've saved somebody a headache,or created one for those who try to use people in this Industry.I hope everybody has a great day and makes Big$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$!!!
