Over a month ago I posted a statement "What has this industry came to"
I made mention of us going Bankrupt due to shity composite pricing. Some called me an idiot, dumbass, told me to stop whining, get a non-AT&T job.
I said we were going to be replaced by low paid/hourly employees. Some called me an idiot, dumbass, told me to stop whining, get a non-AT&T job.
I said guys if we let AT&T get away with it then what will stop the other MSO's from cutting there rates and saying "well AT&T did it and still got the job done, why can't we?" Some called me an idiot, dumbass, told me to stop whining, get a non-AT&T job.
I stayed of this site until now. Now that I came back it seems everyone is saying the same thing that I was ragged for. I also said I hope that I will not be able to come back on here in a year or so and say, “I told you so” Well I was wrong about one thing. It wasn’t a year, it was only a month!!!!!
Mr. Whitfield why go to your Cable College when there are SCTE or NCTI Technician Courses. Most of us have to work during the day and don’t live in Moorhead City. I graduated with a 2-year degree from a Community College in 85 and was qualified to get a $7/hr job working on a production line. I answered an ad in the newspaper to become a CATV contract installer and doubled the money I could have made without the wasted 2 years. I paid $10 past my first couple of SCTE Courses got a job as a splicer made even more money.
Splicerlife4me, I lied to you I said I wasn’t going to lower myself to your level and bicker back and forth with you again but I am. It seems like you can’t get along with anyone, and your just a shit starter. You seem like the only one that don't agree with the change that is needed in this industry. Mr. Whitfield is at least attempting to do something with his dream of a new "type" of company. By the way I wish you the best in finding a job close to home. Like you said anyone that knows there shit in this business will not go without a job...
Someone’s lady on here said it sound like a lot of the people on here suffer from small penis syndrome. I agree. It’s real easy to set in the safety of your home and type and act like a Billy Bad Ass.

I'm done now so everyone have at me, it's what this used to be good cable tool site has come to now...

One cableman you miss understood my comment was made to Doug and Doug alone No One Else.
Doug likes getting his but not everything that goes along with it. That's why he doesn't get
much.

still whinning! geez, you just dont get it do you? AT&T has absolutely NOTHING to do with jobs that other mso's have got going from being slowed/stopped.turn on the evening news some night and see whats going on in the REAL world. as for 'one mans dream' goes, it can be 'another mans nightmare'.

ms bear, i didn't mean any disrespect towards you at all. I think it was cablesplicerswife mainly directing that comment towards 1 person.
It's just that when I found this site a year or so ago, I found it to have more mature & professionial indiviuals on here that were not into childish behavior (constant name callings and put downs). I actually hired several subs from pony up to the bar, for a project that I was managing. I've talked to others that will not even come on here any more cause it's just people arguing with others, and no one trying to help each other. It's us, were the ones that are sending this industry to Hell in a hand basket. We will have no one to blame but ourselves. I remember a time once when we all stuck together and took up for each other. Now it's just like a dog eat dog world and everyones wearing milkbone underwear. I sure miss the days of old. When a mans word was his bond. I used to use my real name instead of onecableman, now in discussion away from the computer, people laugh and say they will not waste there time by coming here. A real shame this used to be just as important of a tool to the average cable dawg, as his gaffs or 9's. Why do I come back? Well it's only once a week now instead of twice a day. Hell it used to be my home page. I keep coming back, just mainly wanting to see when AT&T will throw in the towel & waiting on Mr. Whitfield's dream to come true. God only knows it can't hurt the industry any more, it can only help.

I think you have been watching to much TV. Leave the Cartoon Network and try fCNN.
Better yet, try a real cable news source like Multichannel News.

I have been in this business for nearly twenty-two years, and I`m still damn proud to be a lineman. Hold your head up and keep fighting the fight. One day somebody will give us the recognition that we truly deserve!! It all boils down to one thing they will always need us. Take Care And Don`t Give Up Our Day Is Coming!! The truth is that we have always been over-worked and under-payed. But we will never be replaced, cause they don`t make real LINEMEN ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!
