I just viewed a posting, under contract jobs, that is offering a cash bonus when the job is complete! Is that a pork chop or a T-Bone?! Response: Just offer fair wages, make sure all the ducks are in a row, like material, design, etc..., no retainage because your Q.C. man is actually doing his job and therefore should be no need for it, and pay weekly, or even two weeks out and life would be good. To these pukes wanting to hold 4 weeks, I say if you can't hang with the big dogs, stay on the porch! You have no business holding a mans money for that long because you can't afford it, especially when your making a shit load off them to begin with. If people would treat each other like they want to be treated, this business, and many more, would be alot better. Still, after 18 years of it, I can honestly say that there is not much I haven't seen and it still couldn't drive me from it because there's nothing like it, especially when the weather is good, the running is good, and the money is there! Something to ponder from the peanut gallery! Hey Doug, you know how to run one, how about coming down to the south (where you belong anyway) and run some, so I can splice on a well run, smooth, no bullshit project. Seems like K&M is the last I worked for that made it happen like that. Hats off to Steve Kidd and his management team. That is not to knock the one I'm on now, because Terry Clark knows how to make it happen too, but there are other variables that are preventing it from a smooth start. I am sure that once it gets rolling good it will be a damn good one. Enough said, for this week anyway!
