ed most companys that you go to work for have packets that they will send to you. it will have insurence needs ,probably a million with them as also insured, contractors lic in your state, a bond for at least as much as you will be carring on your books if evan for one day.and locall buis. lic and state sales tax with workmans comp, also you will want to make up a refrance list of jobs completed. each time you change mso's you will need to add them onto your ins. as additionally covered

Had to take a break sometime, damn a boat I'm getting sick of working on them. Can't wait to be done and back on the road.Ed, insurance varys from the kind of job you do in cable, some co.'s as low as 350 thousand, but thats rare, some want a million across the board, some want an umbrella it is usally 2 million, but can go to five, when I say across the board I refer to general libality, auto, and workmans comp.I feel certain if you had one of those giant 40inch directional bores that drills big water crossings it would be much higher. The best thing I can tell you is shop around, there is alot of price difference company to company, also find out what the job you want to go to requires, also ask if the policy can be upgraded if you needed more. Brandon,I think pawley was posting some adds for people. If you don't find what you want there,go to the cable yellow pages to the vendor index some where between page125 to136 look up contractors #'s call till you find what you want.Hope I have helped, Men. See Ya

To clear any confusion from my post a few pages back. Lemco makes good rollers, Jameson universal cable rollers suck. Thank you.About the 1300+ ft span for telephone. I take it that was figure-8 right, I never saw a roll of lashing wire over 1200' used on copper. Can relate to the pay, I built phone for a few years in between cable jobs. Hourly sucks.
