Just got back on after a week of work, reflection, and sorrow. Watched that ceremony on Fox yesterday and still can't believe he's gone. Really makes me feel that life is just too short for all the bitter feelings. I think we all need to try to be more like Earnhardt in our daily life's... Do the best we can possibly do. Whatever it takes, no holds barred. Doug, remember Jack Crabtree? Him and I ventured into the Earnhardt compound, over in Mooresville, and when we got caught, (gaurd was away from his post) they didn't make some big fuss, just kind of lauged and said it wasn't opened for tours yet. I worked for TeleMedia cable in Welcome, NC. for a few years and I got to meet Richard Childress when I was splicing a plant extension to feed the house of one of his pit crew members. He came up to me and introduced himself and asked me a few questions about cable and then went up the road to his house and came back with a white Goodwrench race hat signed by Dale Earnhardt on the bill. I hadn't caught the fever of Nascar yet, had only been here a few months. I got home and my wife and brother in law couldn't believe my good luck. These guys don't act like high and mighties. They are just good ol southern boys that like to race, believe in God and family and happened to do well at what they loved. Rest in peace, Dale Earnhardt!

P.S. No, I will not sell that hat! Been offered a lot of money for it, but it means more than that. It symbolizes good southern hospitality that was extended to me by Childress and signed by a legend. It is part of the wonderful memories I have of working the Welcome region and the die hard Earnhardt fans that reside there. Truly some damn good people. Brett, let's just squash it and CablesMyLife, whoever you are, life's too short for the bullshit, so just get over it. I am pretty sure this is just Ben Katz playing silly little games while at work when he should be finding more projects. In any case, like I said it's time to move on to bigger and better things, like enjoying what time I have here with my family and friends. Time to go make a snow man with my grandson. Yeah, Doug, we did actually get enough snow yesterday to make one! Ha! Ha! Later.

Now that is snow. We only got 2 inches, but it fell in like an hour, so it screwed things up pretty good. It didn't get past 31 yesterday and today it is supposed to get up to 62. Go figure!

Didn't say I was 100% sure, Ben. Just said who I thought it was, being it fits your M.O. You have more screen names than Carter's got pills. Judging by the time, you should be working, not posting here, so GET BACK TO WORK! Kind of nice being in a situation where I have made more in three days than I would in a weeks salary with Protel. Not to mention not having the headaches and hours to put in. Think I'll take the grandson fishing now. Have fun!
