To whom it may concern, RCN is going to build Philly this year just a piece of it though they are still working strong in the burbs of Philly, Collingdale, Morton, UpperDarby, if your looking for work in that area let me just warn you the row houses suck and they're not very good money makers you have to jump fences dodge dogs and dog shit not a very good day but it is money. I just came off that project was working for a sub that let it go. As for Dan Maxwell well Dan what do you say to an a$$hole? I can't think of anything and don't feel like cyber fighting with you. Been in the business to long and seen a$$holes like you through all of it.

Scott Hopson, got word yesterday from Lew Kelley, that Jesse was in Texas on Al Millers job. Houston, heard the prices werent bad for a right to work state. Congrats on the start up of your own company, and the hot babe! Why aren't you working in Oregon? The prices are good, heard they were getting ahead on strand & cable. CSS isn't bad a paying thier bills, in all the jobs I've only known a couple of contractors that didnt get paid, and that was because of crappy work. James is in Virginia on a retro job and the prices are good there too. Media Com starts back up in Illinois this week, but the prices suck!! Worked there from August to January and only made 22,000 and that was bustin ass, what can you expect doing retro for 12c a foot.

Shane, I will never claim to know it all and I never have. I know the business inside and out being in it for 25 years. All my posts have been opinions and what I believe is going on in the Cable Industry today. When the Dot Com Companies started to go under I knew the catv industry would suffer. Specially AT&T since they were banking on the ISP market since their Video market was already up and running. If you walk through this business blindly you will get burned. You have to pay attention to what the market is doing and when a slow down is about to happen. Yes I have mentioned the fact that there are idiots in here and I'm sure most in here would agree. I didnt point to anyone in particular. It was a general statement. You took it as a personal attack on you, that was not my intention. So relax and get over it!!! One thing to keep your eyes on: If you see material starting to drop and nothing is being reordered. Specially constuction material, watch out things are slowing and you best start looking for more work with another employer..

Mike MInders, well the price is a little low on the newport job and the start of the of the project has been draging on for six or seven months. The power companies haven't been cooperating on the coast. The poles are 50' apart in the first 15 nodes, the cable crews are putting the trunk loops on the wrong side of the ploes, and the bug nuts are on the bitch clamp. For NEW BUILD, it's more work than I'm willing to do at that price. If you have the numbers for Jesse & James, could you E-mail me at arctic@*****.com. Thanks

Dan Maxwell, At the moment, like most, I'm slower than shit. I have a fairly large project coming up in April, but till then just little shit. What state is your base? I have been working on the RCN projects up in San Francisco and in Southern CA. But they have cut back their west coast projects for 2001. Seems they are going ahead slowly on the east coast. I listened to their 4th quarter report and it seems they have tons of money, so dont really understand why they are cutting back. I dont work for AT&T but they have screwed the business for the time being. To many contractors not enough to go around since AT&T pulled back work. I understand they have a budget but not the funding, gee I wonder why? hahaha At the moment just trying to keep my head above water.
