Gerry,I'm still on vacation.I will call when I'm finished/still trying to get VA Beach behind me.Looks like I will finish this TWC/MASTEC upgrade at the house.That Airboats waitin for you and Scott.

thankyou onecableman. update on CableLand Railway: AmTrak CableLand Express#1 (to be renumbered later) was delivered to the CLRR engine house at 9 a.m. this morning, completion of the engine house is expected later this week. Delivery of AmTrak CableLand Express#2 (also to be renumbered later) is expected thursday. while construction of the railway commences in breaking weather, a temporary line has been established to serve the good people of CableLand. The recently acquired 0-6-0 porter tank engine (otherwise known as Thomas the Tank) and 2-6-0 (James the Red Engine), will be put into passenger (Thomas) service, and freight (James) service until which time the mailine is completed. an overwhelming vote of 5-0 eliminated any need for a recount as the children of CableLand rejoiced.

This is one, I'd rather ,not have to write.I am against, writing bad things ,about people,on here,as their is not, one, amongst,us, that doesn't have a skeleton, in their closet.I would like to start, this one ,by apologizing to anyone, who,came to Va.Beach,and it didn't work for you.As I posted,everything, had a price,The worst thing in Va.Bch,is those noisy jets,and being paid, imput footage.I would like to start, by thanking David,for letting me use his truck,basically ,for free ,after the trans went out on mine.This is the story.When I went to Va.Bch in the start,it was all underground,I worked out of my dually,the money was fair ,the running ok,I contacted Joe Brown,he comes all the way from Florida,with intentions of moving his family,to Va.(THANK GOODNESS APRIL WAS A STICK IN THE MUD) David paid him well,but he "MICRO MANAGED" the life out of him .In the beginning everything was good,but soon, there was too,many people, to fast.I was splicing,and changed, to power supplys. COX,GDI are not properly,prepared for this upgrade,they were having to do advanced powering.The system was changing to generator backup,ground mounted power supplys.When they aren't in ,they have to come out, to those areas ,that didn't have 90volt power supplys,and temporarily put in new ones.(THE BEGINNING OF SOUP).It takes months of preparation,not days.Needless to say, if your not prepared ,and sometimes when you are.Too many people,the warehouse stock goes out too Quick.(THEN WHAT) You have a bunch of people unhappy.Joe Brown,would break up the runs,David ,would hand them out,giving the best mostly to his employees.He did me very good,until the end.He allowed me to over bill 10 power supplys.I only ever completed 4 and did not do the wreck out on any.We put out cabinets,and wired them up.GDI for some reason,ran out of batteries and modules.Every day we would drive from the beach back to Chesapake,to the warehouse,to find somebody,had lied again.No equipment.This continued .We had the christmas party on Dec.22,David's wife buys him a Plymouth Prowler,he gives her a big diamond.(ALL WELL AND GOOD) for them.AS we stood in the warehouse eariler that day,David asked , how many of us would be willing to cut christmas,short,to go to Pottsville Pa.and a little town outside Harrisburg,to finish projects for GDI.He said everyone would make at least 2grand for three days work.I don't remember how many of us went,10 to 15 trucks.I was a day behind ,the rest ,as I had to put, a new ram ,on the truck, before I left. We finally reached pottsvile and checked into the motel ,We, go out looking for our guys,about 30 minutes later ,I start to see a team of beacons,this is about 10:30 pm.Let me tell you these are special people, out at night in the snow and the cold,to get a job completed.The next day,we cut, all day, into the night.That night we leave for Harrisburg,being told, that we are going to be cutting big footage ,gravy the next day.We get up ,to be told we can go home ,as (SOMEBODY) else had already been given the gravy."GO HOME".We went back to NC,others to who knows where.A couple weeks,pass,still no power supplies.David Doole calls my house and leaves this message,I want my truck and equipment,back in Va.Bch.immediately.We leave that night,The next moring,David is not at the warehouse,I'm expecting to go back to work .I go over and speak to Richard Steel,warehouse mgr.for GDI,he tells me he doesn't know when the power supplies will be in.At this point, I had had enough.We unload the things of mine from davids truck, to my dually.We the hook up to my bucket truck and leave.I was only paid 231.00,for the trip,to Pa.,for two of us.I was told David, took the money GDI, paid him, and split it up, between all of us.I spent over $400.00, to go there, and back.GDI used David, and he used us.I just happened to get lucky, and had overbilled power supplys.Every one else really got used.After Christmas David got rid of alot of people.I don't like the way he went about doing this, but its his business.I will only say this ,IQ,to start with I owe you an apology,His IQ is not 168,its 179,but was tested along time ago,and I'm sure that he has absorbed,much imput, since his last test.This is a man that read the alpha power supply manual in minutes,and retained it.He should probably be designing them.David did no different than any other co. having to trim the fat.In doing so, you will always lose. I have a few items that belong to you MR.David,I will bring them back to you some day, unless you have someone come get them.I apologize to everyone for the length of this article,but this had to be said.Let me just say this one last thing"DAVID when you are riding down the road in your PROWLER and the wind blows through your hair." THINK OF THESE WORDS.IT is easier for a" CAMEL" to pass through the eye of a needle,than for a rich man, to get into the kingdom, of "GOD" on that note, I will close. See Ya "WHITFIELD"

I see this as a good forum to express either satisfaction or the opposite with the cable industry. It seems that there is a great deal of negitivity in this buisness. I guess it is warrented! If you have been lied to, ripped off ,and bounced around as much as I have. I soppose that one would get negitive. What questions that I would like constructive answers to, are how do we make it better? I have only been subbing for three years. Love the job hate the bullshit. Other than dying or giving up what is the answer? Hpoe that you all are having a great day! ?

Yes, it is aginst the rules when you are shootin it. But not when your just watching, been tough on critters this year they need all the help they can get. Whats up scott? how ya been? Heard you were on the west coast. Trying to begin the New Year properly myself spending a little time with the kids, after the fiasco with Media Com in Illinois. Who ya workin for, been looking, looks like east or south for the decent money, I'd much rather stay home than work for 10c a foot new build. Hope everythings wll with you and yours, stay in touch.

It looks like im not the only one on here who has had a bad exp. with david doole. all i can and will say is some time he will screw the wrong person at the wrong time{he wont be hidding well enough}and he will get a leason in old timers cable justice. you know, get the crap beat out of him. its funny how when he shafts someone hes not around. cant be found. what a man!? all you real dogs have a safe day

AT&T continues the slaughter, 68 laid of in Seattle from rebuild, more coming from system. The word is rebuild budget is screwed through the end of the year.
