sff - Cities/towns that have cable up here do not provide cable service everywhere in their location. It is not a law that the cable company provides the service to all areas (at least up here). Some areas do not have enough folks to justify the expense of building, or some that they may seem to be populated enough, are expensive to build in. There are places right in the largest city that are within throwing distance of trunk and/or feeder, but there were not taps cut in to provide service. Anyway, it pretty much amounts to the construction costs being prohibitive.

Good morning all,I would like to thank all the people that took the time to call me yesterday,Sff,there used to be a fourty home per Square mile requirement. The $14000 sounds like BS to me.I would find out who the regional Mgr. is and call him and ask him.I know for "Fact" T W has taken about 8mts here to add one extension here, to tie in Old Town Yacht Club Marina and the people that own the place are extremely wealthy,It got to the point that they were getting ready to put in their own system an say the hell with TW,this place is even adding over 60 condos,I don't understand it.Maybe the pea ons at TW don't like people that can buy and sell their ass.If I were in your shoes,I would offer the construction and splicing labor for free.Is it an areial attachment or UG. Sounds like the most you need is a splitter on the node one line extender and a couple of taps.I surely would think the power supply could stand that little bit of add on,surely they don't have ac that strapped that they couldn't add that little bit of nothing. If you have a friend inside TW thats the route I would persue first, before I would call the regional man. They can be pricks if you piss them off! Thanks for the call last night Ed,one more dog added to the pack!! It sure was good to here from you old friend. My wife is mad with me now, instead of a haircut this time I shaved my head yesterday, she is pissed,If you need a mental picture of what I look like now,I'm told I look like I could be Goldberge's brother.Wooah Yeah!! She wanted to know why I did this .Its because in a few days this Old Dog will turn 44 .This man stopped here looking at boats the other day he had no hair,he had cancer, awaiting a bone marrow transplant,he was younger than I am,he said if there is anything you haven't done in your life "DO IT" a year ago I was as healthy as you are. Then my friend that owns the Big jet ski shop in Morehead stopped by with a ski for me to do some glass work on.It was about 6:30 pm I was drinking a beer,I offered him one ,(I thought he wouldn't take it as I new he was a devout Christan) he said no thanks,I did drink a six pack the other day and got tore up.I said whats up with that? You don't drink! He said man my wife has left me for some man she met on the computer, and she has taken my son with her,and its killing me.Here is a man that seemingly had it all,I just don't understand life sometimes!! Any how it has lit a fire under my ass to accomplish my goal,my dream, and the only thing that will keep me from it is if God decides its my time, because hell and high water can't keep me from it now!!I have four children and a wife to provide a future for and I'll go to my grave trying to do just that. This new co.I am starting is founded with the belief in the fact,Do unto others as you would have them do to you.Its daylight here now,I got boats that got to go out the door.I'll check in later.Sorry if I took up a bunch of space this morning but the OLD DOG needed to Vent.I hope everbody has a Great day and make Big $$$$$$$$$$$ See Ya

The `Magic Mile' is a bill of materials or list of hardware needed to build 1 mile (in a typical setting) of aerial CATV plant. Several vendors used to include them in their parts catalogs. Haven't seen one in a few years though. Was a pretty handy tool for ordering materials in a hurry.

Accually I believe the "magic mile" has been referred for years to be the "Getting Fiber to the home from the Fiber Node"! I have an artical recently done on "The Last Mile" or you can look into C.E.D. magazine online. If you can't get info please let me know I will write it out.

If this clown whitfield makes 5 G's a week in cable then he has to be part owner in all these systems he claims he has done work for, otherwise it's pure cornfed farmbred Bull Shit.

Has anyone heard of International FiberCom, and if so, what kind of company are they to work for?
