Will do Terry. Hey Larry, give me a call. Tried your home number and says it has been changed. I read where Ashley had posted that things aren't going so well. If there is anything I can do to help ya out, just let me know. I've been hearing some things and now I know why. You have helped me when I needed it, so let me return the marker. Home number is still the same. Cell changed to828-###-####.

Hey all from Little Rock! Sorry to hear about the cable "dad" health problems!
We had a couple serious situations here.
You all know about our "Statewide Ice Storm"....well it weaken the power lines, poles etc. Anyway a couple lineman from Rocky Mountain were on poles and power broke loose and fell down, barely missing them and landing on phone, then a fense below. Causing a total melt down! They said they "Found religion"!
Another incident was a cable brother had his foot ambutated off by power!
And some say our jobs are not dangerous!
I realize that this is a very difficult project due to the ice storm and all. But, has anyone else been having serious problems with the "Quality of work" from contractors????
I am told that "I expect too much"!
Is expecting the job to be done right the first time "Expecting too much"? I don't mean "perfect"! I don't mean making small mistakes!
Example: Start out at the Node. I have the sweep tech check the levels of the output of the Node. I then have him/her shoot a carrier back to me to optimize the return lazer. I then have the tech check the forward / return graphs and the return telemetry. Once they tell me it all looks good I tell them to move forward.
Well, I guess I should be taking the time to check every node!
I have a subcontract sweep tech move forward on sweep with the Node NOT balanced properly at the forward levels (6 db tilt instead of an 11 db tilt) Also the return fiber was obviously dirty, you could see this in the return graph! AND he did all his first Amps out referenced too themselves!
And I am "Expecting too much" when I don't pay for this type of work?????
Please let me know what you think!

Hazards of being a manager, Mark. I have always found that the ones that want to take short cuts and not do the job correctly, are the ones who want to talk shit and try to blemish your reputation. The ones who do it right do not cause that kind of drama because they are professional enough to do it right, or are seasoned enough to know that going back doesn't pay. Your better off sending them down the road before they cause you too much grief.

Hey there Mr.G Whitfield I see that people are asking Questions About Me ...I like that And I would like to also say Thank you for the reference. you know how the new age lineman are ... You need to come to work with 3-gallions of milk and a box of dipers for them .So after you replyed to that guy woody I guess he did not have enought balls to go to work for a reel company like mine he was just asking Questions (all mouth no action ) but thank You Mr. whitfield Bubbadave

Thank you for the replies all. I slept on it and I am sending them down the road.
Mainly due to Friday. They were CLI Mitigating / Noise suppression on a couple Nodes for the past week & 1/2. They told me Friday that they had both Nodes done and they were headed home for the weekend. They left the OTN around 1PM-1:30. I sent my helper out to the first Node with the charactor generator to send me my carriers for cert. Nothing would make it back to the OTN!!!! We troubleshot for several hours to find that during these contractors "CLI Mitigation" they were pulling pads!!!!! Some they slyly left the input pads "barley" in so they "Looked" like they were plugged in!
True dishonesty!!!!!!
Not sure how they thought they would get away with that!!!!!
Well everyone! I guess I need a WAMBULANCE!!! I'm whinning!!!!
Gotta run! Have a good & SAFE one!
Mark
