Well said John, couldn't have said it better myself. I like you have been in the business some 27 years and it used to be that the only guys you could count on was your cable brother and the only fighting going on was with the locals. I guess times along with certain attitudes have changed through the years.

Does anyone know of TDR gear that will perform through passives without showing a fault? I use Tektronix TV220 Cablescout and if you try to shoot through passives they shows as a fault. You end up isolating every span. E me or post here. Thanks.

John Hill, did you work in Louisville KY. or Atlanta GA.? If so I wanted to say sorry for my dog biting you when I was shaking your hand on my way out of town. He dosen't want anyone near his food source.WOODY!!!

M. Pickell. Actually the Sadelco's are much more sophisticated. They are #1, wavtek#2, then HP and others. Sadelco meters built the American cable infrastructure.

Mr. J. Sledco--it's M. Pickrell (there's an r in there) and in my opinion, Sadelco has seen it's day unless they can build a meter that matches up to any of Wavetek's sweep meters in the near future. I don't believe this is the place to advertise but my money is well spent on Wavetek gear. My company just put in a $40k order with Wavetek because we and most of the rest of the sweep-world-as-we-know-it know that Wavetek is, if not the most sophisticated, the best sweep gear in the industry. I could be wrong because I haven't done the research, but I would bet that Wavetek outsold Sadelco in 1999. Good luck to you Mr. Sadelco and I mean that but until Sadelco makes a handheld field sweep unit that includes a Spectrum Analyzer, Hum testing, C/N testing, CSO and CTO test as well as a 24 hour test and comprehensive QAM (256) testing and return path sweep, I feel that you be famous for building the American cable infrastructure and nothing else. It's my opinion and I don't sell anything but my sweep product-- well balanced cable systems. That's my 2 bits....keep the change.

Sweetek! Could not have said it better myself! Plain facts are great sometimes. I will say that I have "never" seen an MSO yet that wanted their sweep done with anything other than a WaveTek, HP or Trilithics. But, on the otherhand, I did start out years ago with a Sadelco meter. So, not dissing it.....just others out perform it now!

Stealth, Stealthtrax, and the related software, the reverse path monitoring capabilities, ....need I go on. Never used a Sadelco. Unless something blew my doors off, I don't feel the need to look. Once worked in an area that swore by the Window Lite.....I think it stands in the shadow of the shadows of good sweep gear/meters. So you see where I'm coming from? Like the others have said, no disrespect at all, just honest feedback!

JOE SADELCO...LOVE MY MINI-MAX! SWEAR BY IT! AN UNSURPASSABLE METER FOR THE MONEY IN MY OPINION. GRANTED, IT IS A RF METER W/DIGITAL CAPABILITIES, C/N, HUM, AND MY FAVORITE; AUTO CALABRATION! EACH MEASURMENT IS COMPUTER CORRECTED FOR FOR LEVEL,ATTENUATOR SETTING, AND TEMPRATURE. EVERY 30 SECONDS OR SO, THE MINI-MAX SELF CALABRATES USING THE WHITE NOISE SOURCE, THATS BUILT IN. ITS NOT A SWEEP METER, BUT IT BLOWS WAVETECHS 'MICRO-STEALTH' OUT OF THE WATER FOR RF METERS, AND HAS AUDIO AS WELL! JUST MY OPINION. HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!
