Re: Pole data collection by the Construction crew.

Each of these work task are Stand Alone type of field operations: It only takes one, or possibly two peole to do Pole survey-ownership-measurement-data collections-make ready requirements-house count.  If you want the job done right, you need at least one experience person doing the collection of information and possibly another doing the stick/wheel task.   A construction crew can be any where from a 2 -4 man operation.   So if your trying to do both in one task....you are diffently loosing money and production at the end of the day.  I've had 2 men doing 3-5 mile pole data/measurement work per day, any where from 120-225 poles a day, now if they had to work with the crew doing this task...you would be luck to get 25 poles done day, plus drastically hindering the production of the crew.  Any one trying to do both task at same time most likely has never been in the field or know anything about avoiding wasted productive man hours, vehicle fuel waste.   You can't take a Newbee Grunt, give him/her a wheel and stick then toss them on a crew to collect info/data.    Keep Safe but "Get R Done"       Microman
