Just ring the cable with a hook blade 5 or 6 inches from the end and pull the tube off. Start a nick in the armor to start the rip cords and pull them down to expose the buffers. Wear gloves. Leave the cable a little long and trim the buffers once you have it in the can. Takes less time this way than all the gadgets for doing the same thing.
