Fiber Optic Technician (Medina, OH)
Title: Fiber Optic Technician

Status: Full Time

POSITION SUMMARY
The Fiber Optic Technician is primarily responsible for quality installation and splicing of fiber optic drop cables in an aerial and underground fiber optics network.
CORE SKILL SETS
• Existing knowledge and experience of fiber optics is preferred
• Knowledge and experience with hand tools
• General skills in wiring/cabling
• Ability to utilize test equipment and interpret test results
• Ability to utilize applications on a tablet device
• Ability to work from heights such as bucket trucks and ladders
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
• Ability to analyze and identify problems and quickly solve issues with minimum supervision
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally or in writing

• Superior customer service attitude and capability- “white glove” service
• Great attitude, work ethic, self-starter, punctual, proactive, and energetic
• Technically/mechanically minded, smart, and good with your hands
• Good problem-solving capabilities
• Good safety history and practices

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee must be capable of physical activity performing daily activities which will include but not limited to; using a drill and bits, accessing communications equipment on poles by climbing up and down ladders and using a bucket truck, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to kneel, crouch, climb, and balance. The employee should possess manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, works with the fingers, and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
