Job Description
Overview: Under general supervision, this entry level position assists in performing tasks associated with the Utility Construction.
Responsibilities:
• Must be able to follow simple instructions
• Must dig trenches manually or mechanically
• Should be able to safely identify utilities in the trench/bore path.
• Wil restore and landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
• Performs site clean-up
• Responsible for clean vehicles, trailers, tools and equipment
• Willing to demonstrate job skill, procedures and techniques to new hires
• Must shall follow all safety rules at all times.
• Expected to attend all safety meetings and training.
• Shall use all prescribed safety equipment that is required to safely do the job at hand.
.This position may require overtime, weekend work, night work and/or overnight travel.
Qualifications:
• Standard Driver’s License Preferred, CDL preferred
• Must have the ability to operate manual and mechanical equipment as necessary
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and frequently.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to adverse conditions such as high temperatures, high wind, extreme cold, rain, sleet, and snow. The outside work environment will vary throughout the workday including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings and/or rural settings. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate.
