Higher rates available for well-equipped fiber optic splicers. 12hrs minimum daily for duration of repair up to 90 days.
Qualifications
3 years experience fusion splicing, OTDR testing and troubleshooting. Must be fully equipped with a core alignment machine, OTDR, traffic identifier, enclosed laboratory example: splice trailer or high top van.
Job Description
Troubleshooting identifying and repairing fiber-optic networks damaged by hurricane. Experience with multiple fiber plants and systems. Production splicing and preforming under pressure is important. Must be trained, aware and respect the potential for high voltage power lines during restorations. Higher rates paid for saftey conscious people who are confident and equipped. Competence is second only to safety.
