The Mini Excavator Operator is a skilled worker with the required knowledge, skill, and physical ability to perform construction and maintenance duties related to the installation of underground utilities (especially near underground utilities).
Other Requirements
The operator must be experienced in the following areas: Operating the mini near active utilities and underground hazards; Driving company vehicles; leading a crew of 2-3 people;
Job Description
Mini Excavator Operator will be expected to fulfill the following job duties:
• Install, remove or maintain underground utilities as directed. This process can include, but is not limited to: shoveling, carrying pipe, using power tools, carrying bags of material (and other heavy items), shoveling, tamping and installing pipe, duct or cable
• Perform the essential physical functions of the job
• Must lead, communicate, and work well with others
•Must perform good housekeeping techniques and maintain the equipment/vehicle assigned to you in proper condition
• Must follow all safety policies and procedures of OSHA, contractors, state, local and the company.
• Load material or equipment for transport from office to job site and secure as appropriate
• Secure work site, equipment and materials at the end of each shift to ensure public safety as well as the safety of equipment and materials
• Follow directions of supervisor for completion of work
