Position Description

The Field Supervisor will work closely with the Leadership Team and other members of Departments to ensure the proper management and project performance is in place to support the Company and its objectives, mission and values. The Field Supervisor will need to be a good and genuine person with high integrity, have a strong work ethic, and who will be someone that respects the Leadership and Management Team, understands the responsibilities to the families of Custom Utilicom, respects what has been accomplished at Custom and can learn and add their own value and knowledge to further develop, document, improve and automate processes and assist the business in its growth plan and in achieving profitability goals and value creation efforts.

Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent, continued education in a technical field a plus but not required.
- 2 years’ experience in the management of others.
- Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) required.
- Knowledge of Project Management Software required or willingness to learn.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record with the ability to be insured under the Company’s insurance policy is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing the placement of competitive and profitable bids.
- Supervise, train, develop and coach exempt and non-exempt employees.
- Prepare budgets for each project with the ability to report the results by ensuring hourly field personnel report accurate time on projects and review project profitability on a regular basis with the project team and upper management.
- Ability to communicate directly with clients to understand their needs, resolve issues and develop relationships to become the provider of choice.
- Responsible to meet and exceed company goals, objectives and targeted level of financial performance and awareness.
- Work with the Lead Field Supervisor to develop, maintain, and implement an effective construction schedule and process to efficiently manage the project backlog and personnel.
- Read and interpret documents in the form of work orders, including (but not limited to) strand maps, PDF prints, Bentley prints, and any other CATV, phone and fiber related document.
- Oversee the scheduling and coordination of rental equipment or any additional resources that may be required.
- Complete as-built designs and as-spliced documentation to meet or exceed established company and/or client Service Level Objectives at the completion of project.
- Ability to recognize the need to redesign / re-route projects to circumnavigate field issues as needed, while working with the client, and property owner in the process.
- Resolve customer complaints and public relations issues as they arise.
- Oversee post-construction quality control assessments.
- Manage employee schedules, including time off approvals and weekly time card.
- Assist other members of the management team as needed, keep team focused on their tasks at hand, and further develop their knowledge and understanding.
- Ability to create project expectations for all team members, monitor progress and make adjustments when necessary, provide timely and detailed updates to our clients and leadership team.
- Ability to provide Supervisory support for scheduled On-Call weeks required by our clients.
- Employee must consider safety to themselves and crew members the top priority.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
