Job Description
Wise Connect, Inc. is looking for Fiber Installers in Oregon: Coos Bay, Portland
*$1,000 Sign on Bonus*
We will train qualified candidates to put up aerial fiber from the pole to the house as well as clean and connect fiber cable to the FSAI, MST, and ONT
Prior experience working aloft on 28ft ladder a plus!
Prior fiber experience is a plus!
Description:
• Ability to measure distance from terminal to home for appropriate placement
• Strong customer communication skills - ability to explain technical issues to customers
• Technician must have own Truck, Van or SUV with ladder rack
• Technician will provide their own tools to perform their job
• Technician will provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required for the position. Lace up boots with a defined 1/2-inch heel, hard hat, reflective safety vest, fall resistor (harness), and safety cones may be required. Other equipment may be required by local management.
• Will place aerial fiber drops from terminal to side of home
• May climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet
• May perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 75 pounds
• May perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather)
• When working aloft, employee's weight and tools combined may not exceed the 300-pound weight limit as specified by the manufacturer
• Must work varying shifts and hours including possible mandatory overtime, weekends, and holidays. Follow all company and client safety guidelines
