Job Description
Job Title: OSP Construction Laborer
Reports To: OSP Manager
Job Purpose:
General OSP Construction/Telecommunication work.
Duties and Responsibilities: (Including, but not limited to)
•Travels to and from job sites
•Loads and unloads materials on truck.
•Performs all phases of general and underground construction include but are not limited to; loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal and placement of various types, sizes and weight of construction materials and equipment.
•Responsible for job site restorations damaged during construction activities.
•Operates and/or works around heavy equipment and machinery such as, Backhoe, Jack Hammer, Jumping Jack, Hole Hog, Roto Hammer, Cut-Off Saw, Portable Water Pump, Saws-All, pedestals, cables, plastic conduit, shovel, rake, sledgehammer, pipe wrench, wire cutters, bolt cutters, cable cutters, drilling shafts, etc.
•Always maintains safe working habits/conditions.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
•Ability to work on-call, evenings and weekends as needed.
Qualifications:
•General High school diploma or equivalent
•Valid Class A driver's license, preferred.
•Experience in telecommunications or underground utilities industry is a plus.
•Desired Skills & Qualifications:
•Must be able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.
•Must be able to lift and carry materials of all shapes and sizes, weighing 40 to 90 pounds.
•Must be able to maintain visual and audible contact with other crewman and all moving or stationary persons/vehicles/objects to ensure safe coordination of movement.
•Must be able to operate or workaround heavy equipment and machinery.
•Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
•Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl while performing work.
•Must be able to ascend and descend ladders.
•Must be able to work in small/confined areas.
•Must be able to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses, hardhat, and any applicable safety gear.

Physical movements such as climbing, lifting, and moving materials. Ability to stand, sit or be in other physically demanding positions for long periods of time.
