Job Description

Major Job Elements:
• Ensure engineering/design activities comply with company and contract requirements
• Coordinate efforts across subcontractor platforms to ensure compatibility and integration of systems
• Provide technical support for construction
• Support the development or acquisition of applications to facilitate field reporting, as-builds, records reporting including inspections, bills of materials, and progress tracking
• Assist in the development and implementation of field computer applications to facilitate the control and collection of data for mapping (gps)(gis)(kmz)
• Coordinate with the professional services firm(s) to assure completeness and correctness of design and construction documents
• Ensure that engineering deliverables are compatible with client’s requirements

? Have five years of project experience. Two (+) years in telecom preferred
? Must have computer skills in MS Office programs, field applications for surveying and data management
? Have a high level of written and oral communication skills
? Proficient in Microsoft Office & OSP record data base applications
? Ability to perform field site meets; meet with developers, customers, local agencies
? Fiber management and Fiber Design Along with Associated Splice Documentation
? Skilled with ESRI ArcGIS (Online), Autodesk, AutoCAD, KMZ

The Outside-Plant Engineer plays a prominent role within the Telecom Industry. The primary responsibility of an OSP Engineer revolves around the construction and maintenance of plant infrastructure, design, permitting and engineering as well as providing a route analysis of underground & aerial fiber optic installations.

This position reports to the Design Manager 1.
This position is located at the Detroit (Canton) Michigan Metro Area Office.
