Job Description
NATURE OF WORK
Before a fiber optic system can be built, detailed construction prints must be produced and all applicable permits secured. Using the technical tools listed below, VTC’s Design Group provides these services to our Construction Teams. A Mapping and Permitting Technician (i) undertakes research; (ii) interprets field survey notes and other data and enters the data into DWG files; and (iii) generates permit applications and manages correspondence between VTC, customers, and governmental / corporate jurisdictions.
REQUISITE SKILLS
Education / Certification:
• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
• 3-5 years working with AutoCAD required.
Skills (Required):
• Proficiency in working with AutoCAD.
Skills (Desired):
• Proficiency in working with GoogleEarth Pro, Adobe Professional, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Aptitude:
• Display excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to multi-task; adept at following oral and written instructions; excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
Other:
• Willing to be challenged and learn in a dynamic environment.
