Job Description:
Installation and Repair Technicians – perform all phases of installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of POTS (Plain Old Telephone), Fiber, DSL, data systems and video networks.
Responsibilities
• Installation and repair Cat 3, Cat 5e, Cat6, RJ11, RJ45 jacks, drop, and/or NID.
• Basic computer skills and Android platform mobile device application usage
• Experience with phone system and twisted pair
• The telephony color code to be able to identify assigned cable pairs
• Plans installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools; assessing installation site; and preparing an installation diagram.
• Maintain and repair outside copper plant facilities within their assigned service areas as needed
• Assume all other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years of related telecommunications experience.
• Legally registered truck, van, or SUV to accommodate a 28’ ladder and tools
• Android smart phone is also a requirement with company reimbursement TBD.
• Laptop may be required.
• Other equipment may be required by local management.
• Must be available to work flexible hours.
• Weekend work may be required.
• Must pass background check, MVR, and drug test.
