Qualifications

Management/Leadership Experience w/the ability to lead OSP crews., Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and remotely. The ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and work effectively under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Skilled in the use of computers and other electronic devices necessary to execute operations. Minimum 10 years experience in OSP construction. Advanced knowledge of fiber industry and use of fiber tools and equip.

Other Requirements

Must understand and enforce OSHA safety standards. Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs. minimum. Must be able to pull his/her own body weight plus equipment weight as needed for training, certifications and occasional support. Must be willing to work sometimes long and unpredictable hours and travel out-of-state where necessary. Requires working outdoors in all weather conditions. More than 60% travel is likely.

Job Description

Administrative Responsibilities:
• Manage overall fiber projects
• Develop processes, tools and execution of operations including reduction of cycle times, cost and improved quality in the field
• Assist sales team through preparation and delivery of operations-oriented presentations and statements of work by matching project requirements with effective operational solutions
• Develop and maintain a broad knowledge of wireline technologies required to execute operational excellence
• Stay aware of industry trends, issues and competition related to telecom and operations
• Create detailed Scope of Work (SOW) documents from an Operational perspective for both internal and customer facing projects
• Provide feedback to executive and development teams necessary to help with road mapping opportunities from an operational perspective

Field Responsibilities:
• Recruit, Hire, Train and Mentor Crew(s)
• Work directly with customer contacts to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical issues along-side engineering and provide effective solutions
• When a solution requires additional expertise, provide customer assistance by escalating and reproducing the operational problems to internal development or OEM resources until a solution is reached
• Work cross-functionally within the organization and with external partners
• Assure that all documentation including but not limited to, comprehensive installation MOPs and Close Out Packages (COPs) is provided for projects
• End-to-end management of the construction elements of projects around the US
• Construction, troubleshooting, calibration, testing, and maintenance of telecommunications equipment
• Operating test equipment and data reporting
• Performing additional maintenance or upgrades on out of season equipment
• Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance
• Working with a crew and responding to service calls in a timely manner
