Qualifications
2 years experience , will train right candidate. Use of bucket truck , Fusion splicer, OTDR DWDM , troubleshooting skills needed.
Other Requirements
Hand tools, meters, bucket truck a plus. We have Bucket trucks for right candidates
Job Description
Fiber splicers:
Ability to install, trouble-shoot, splice and maintain fiber optic systems.
Prep and hang fiber optic enclosures, nodes and related equipment
Route, splice and/or terminate fiber in equipment racks at central offices, hub sites and other various MPOE's.
Perform fusion splicing.
Perform OTDR tests
Perform optical power loss tests
Able to perform mid sheath cut
Read design maps, fiber schematics and basic electronic designs
Operate aerial lift and other related equipment to perform job functions
Frequently communicate with management on workload status
May occasionally perform routine construction work such as pulling rope/cables, climbing ladders, using hand tools, digging with a shovel, etc.
Coax splicers:
Able to splice 500 to 875 cable. New build, plant extensions and Span replacements, street side and some easement required.
Work performed for now during maintenance hours 12-6am There are some jobs that can be done during regular hours.
Compensation trip charge plus piece work, footage.
