Wise Connect, Inc. is currently seeking Central Office Technician in the Roseburg/Grants Pass area. Central Office (Switch) Technician is an individual that has highly qualified skill sets, to include an excellent working knowledge/understanding of repair for all GTD 5 & DMS 10 Central Office switching equipment. Knowledge of switch circuit installations and repair including Digital Loop Carrier, Next Generation Digital Loop Carrier, asynchronous, SONET and DWDM systems and special circuit/design services.

Candidate MUST be fully trained and experienced to work in a Central Office with no assistance.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for maintenance of Central Office Power Equipment including, but not limited to batteries, rectifiers, generators, power plants, transfer switches and power monitoring equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, analyze defects, tests, adjust, repair and maintain complex power plants and equipment in Central Offices, HUTs, customer locations, transfer switches and Remote Terminals.
• Use of electrical and or electronic measuring devices
• Update work and maintenance log books
• Run diagnostic test programs, analyze defects and/or tests various types of power equipment.

Qualifications:
• Technician must possess a working knowledge of the cable color code and be able to readily identify assigned network components.
• Technician must possess the skills to inspect, clean and place fiber optic jumpers.
• Technician should be highly competent with the operation of test sets to complete work functions associated with the testing and repair of copper, fiber, transmission, LAN/WAN, ATM, Ethernet, Packet and other special circuits and devices.
• Technician must be able to correctly read the Main Distribution Frames (MDF) to ensure copper, jumpers have been run, rearranged or removed correctly for single line & xDSL.
• Follow all Ziply Fiber policies and procedures

Must have vehicle and own hand tools.
