Job Description

Sunrise Telecom, Inc. is a communications contractor with a current opening for a Fiber Optics Supervisor. -Responsibilities-


Build and maintain motivated team members through effective interviewing, hiring, training and performance management activities.
Provide on the job training for employees working under your direction on splicing & testing best practices to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Ensures that all employees and subcontractors are working safely and productively.

Supervise all designated fiber splicing & testing operations to ensure that all scopes of work are completed at a high level of quality, meeting or exceeding Client and industry specifications.

Assign daily production to in-house and subcontract team members.

Requisition, assign, and track materials and equipment needed for the day-to-day operations.

Perform audits of completed and in-process operations to ensure work is being completed in compliance with project specifications and monitor safe work practices.

Review production reports, material usage sheets, keep track of work hours, complete and maintain accurate records for work completed.

Ensure compliance with all Client specific turn-over requirements and as-built packages

Monitor and manage productivity for splicing & testing resources and strive for continuous improvement through innovation

Support divisional management team in bidding & estimating activities for new work.

-Qualifications-


Minimum 5-7 years experience in the Telecommunications industry

5+ years experience in Fiber Optic Splicing & Testing, including loose tube and ribbon fiber and full suite of fiber testing, including characterization.

Strong knowledge of fiber designs including reading splice diagrams, prints, and engineering documents

Strong knowledge in how to prep splice locations, termination points, and installation of splice closures

Ability to interact with peers and senior staff productively and professionally.

Strong Management and Supervisory Skills

Strong Organizational Skills

Ability to positively interact with Client’s field and management personnel.

Ability to walk, sit, squat, reach above their head

Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.

Ability to handle and climb a 28 ft. fiberglass ladder

CDL a plus
