Job Description

Custom Utilicom, Inc. Essential Duties:

Read and interpret documents in the form of work orders, including (but not limited to) strand maps, PDF prints, Bentley prints, and any other CATV/fiber related document. Provide daily pay sheet and associated as built documentation at the end of each shift.
Assist Foreman in managing a crew.
Directs and helps Groundhand maintain an organized and clean aerial cable placing truck that is properly tooled and stocked daily.
Verifies with Groundhand that all tools and equipment (including trailer) are in good working order daily.
Maintain a professional attitude with crew and the general public and insure the crew members maintain a professional attitude.
Directs the crew to proper positions from start to finish at each job site while still performing their own work at the highest level.
Understands and can perform all work associated to aerial cable placement and is able to follow construction methods at a distinguished level. (Adhering to NESC & TWC Construction codes)
Installation of strand and associated hardware
Pole transfers & banding attachments
De-lash and re-lash of active cables and fiber without causing damage to cables and/or fiber.
Installation of aerial fiber optic cable
Installation of aerial coaxial cable

Experience & Physical Demands:

The aerial foreman must have the ability to climb a utility pole using either gaffs or a fiberglass extension ladder. The employee is required to be able to lift and maneuver up to sixty pounds over their head on a daily basis. Also, the employee must be willing and able to work in extreme weather conditions the entire year.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, and physical demand to perform as an aerial foreman. All employees of Custom Utilicom Incorporated may be required to perform tasks that fall outside of the above listed job description.

Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record with the ability to be insured under the Company’s insurance policy is required.
