Pay
This installation team of 2 people, is paid per location at the rate of $100.00 per location. Terminal to end point which may be several poles down line. 13 to 15 installs per day, 6 to 7 day, 6 to 7 days per week.
Qualifications
This requires a two man crew, Must have a ladder or bucket truck, hand tools, and current drivers license. Lead installer and helper or two installers. Great position for aerial cable installers or I & R techs, Very easy work and very lucrative.
Other Requirements
Hang the FIAT at the pole, run cable to the termination pole. Check for light between the FIAT and the end of the cable which can be done before installation. This requires a light meter available thru AMAZON for around $35.00. All safety Equipment, Must be a two man crew.
Job Description
Attach the FIAT to the strand and place a "J" hook on the pole, place the fiber cable in a "P" clamp and attach to the "J" hook. Drop may have to extend to another pole where the termination point is located, no lashing required. Some FIATs may have to be attached to the pole, recommend a battery operated drill with bits. No Splicing involved, just coil the fiber at the terminating pole below the strand on a "J" hook. The light meter can be used prior to installation to check continuity between the FIAT and the terminating end. work at your own pace, pay is based on the total number of installations. those working this install are averaging 13 to 15 installs per day.
Light meter is a basic light meter available thru Amazon for around $35.00.
Each contractor must provide his own safety equipment, vest, hard hats, traffic sings warning motorist of your activity, Strobe lights are recommended but not required except on bucket trucks. No additional pay for bucket truck use.
