Job Description
The Maintenance Technician must be knowledgeable of and able to perform, but not limited to, the following:
• Bi-Directional Sweep and Certifications
• Ingress/Egress Mitigation
• Optical Node Bi-Directional Optimizations and Setups
• DOCSIS Performance Tools
• All Aspects of Line Repair and Testing
• ISP Optical Transmitters and Receivers
• ISP Combining and Distribution Networks
• Coaxial Installation, Splicing and Performance Testing
• Inclusive of all Line Actives and Passives
• SDA-5000/DSAM-6300 /Viavi Digital Measurement and Testing Operation
• TDR/FDR Operation
• Read OSP Design and Asbuild Maps with experience on the operation of the forward and return network
• Use customary CATV hand and power tools in performance of job duties
• Must be able to climb ladders, poles, or other structures as trained and qualified
• Operate and maintain assigned vehicle in accordance with Company guidelines
• Qualified to operate bucket truck, met DOT CMV qualifications
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record according to insurance company requirements
• Lift and carry equipment or materials of up to 50 lbs over uneven terrain
• Willingness to learn; adapt and accept increasing responsibility
• Performs other duties as assigned
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Exposure to varying temperatures as work is primarily outside.
• Noise levels are moderate to heavy.
• Work in different types of terrain including water, sand, and dirt.
• Varying degrees of light as work may begin early morning and continue in the evenings.
