Pay

Hourly pay with benefits. Based on Ability and Experience. Two times per year Above and Beyond bonus program.

Qualifications

Must have a valid Driver’s License (Chauffer’s License. Preferred CDL-A with an acceptable driving record.)

Job Description

Safely operates directional bore drill equipment on jobsite which may include but not limited to the following: Vermeer Directional Drill, Mini Excavator, Vacuum Trailer, Moving Equipment, loading trailers, etc.
• May drive equipment to job site.
• Confirms with Locator/Lead the bore path to drill.
• Set equipment up including the drill, alarm, water tanks and grounding the machine.
• Drill out following the predetermined drill path.
• Knowledge of underground pot holing is a plus.
• Communicate with the Locator/Lead on radio to confirm the location of the drill head.
• Assist with the install of proper puling gear and hook up innerduct.
• Restores landscapes and disturbed areas of the jobsite to original or better condition.
• Work with Locator to develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Responsible for the site set-up and clean-up.
• Load and unload tools, materials and equipment on truck and trailers.
• Setting up safety perimeter using safety signs, cones and safety barriers.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications)
• May be required to work overtime; after hours; and possible weekends.
• Ability and willingness to follow instructions.
Qualifications:
• 1 to 3 years demonstrated Directional Bore Drilling and equipment experience and understand their capabilities and limitations.
• Experience with drill set up and design processes.
• Basic ability to use small tools/hand tools.
• Ability to read and understand work prints, safety rules and operating instructions.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License (Chauffer’s License or preferred a CDL-A with an acceptable driving record)
• Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities if needed along bore path.
• Must have good troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
• Complies with safety procedures while driving and at job site.
• Must be very safety conscientious.
