Job Description

Overview:

CableCom is looking for Coax Splicers to join our team in Englewood, Colorado. This position is Sign-on Bonus eligible, and will be paid out in increments at 30 day and 90 days from hire for those that qualify.  Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes. Candidate must have at least 1 year of coax construction/splicing experience, be capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions, and be able to pass background and drug screen. Responsibilities: 

* Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable 
* Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation
* Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle
* Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications
* Safely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)
* Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary
* Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily
production
* Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts 
* Frequently work independently
* Other splicing related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

* At least 1 year of coax construction/splicing experience
* Ability to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams
* Ability to distinguish colors
* Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
* Must be able to pass pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test  
* Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class
"B" - light commercial)
* Must be authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications:

* Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber 
* OSP telecommunication construction experience; cable experience 
* Experience in splicing, balancing, and documenting CATV systems 

Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance 
* Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary
* Must be able to work in all weather conditions
