Job Description
Aerial Line Man
Responsibilities:
Climbs utility poles and can use an aerial lift truck to place cables soon poles per system design.
Performs new cable installs, pole transfers, strand building, cable hanging, lashing, ect.
Aerial and Underground telephone cable (fiber and coax).
Drives and or operates diesel or gasoline powered bucket trucks.
Understands and can read field prints.
Flagging (vehicles and equipment where work is active).
Performs general construction work (physical labor using hand tools, lifting materials, digging, pulling aerial or underground fiber, physical abilities may require up to 50lbs., ect).
Performs other duties as necessary (may require limited paperwork)
Follows safety procedures per OSHA guidlines
Ability to be on call and work after hours/nights/weekends as needed.
Willingness to train for further advancement.
Qualifications
Ability to climb poles and work heights up to 40 feet.
Ability to operate an aerial bucket truck and construction equipment.
Experience with lashing cables required
Valid Driver’s License (CDL a plus)
Ability to work outside and endure temperature changes year around.
Must be able to demonstrate and maintain safe working habits and conditions according to Federal, State and Company regulations and policies.
Works well with others.
Follows directions.
Equipment certification a plus.
