Job Description
The Network Planning Engineer is responsible for the oversight, planning, budgeting, and project timing for network growth, modernization, consolidation, and advancement needs in a fiber focused business. The Planner uses various inputs to determine the optimal network distribution solutions based on demand, architecture, funding, and anticipated growth. The Planner analyzes current demand, geospatial data, data analytics, and forecasts to determine and implement the best network solutions.

Job Duties:
· Develop both short and long-term market strategies for network investment and evolution to support customer demands
· Analyze network demands using multiple inputs such as forecasts, consumption, GIS tools, analytics, and other market indicators
· Determine optimal project architecture solutions while balancing the customer experience, cost, scalability, and reliability
· Implement solutions to solve capacity constraints prior to network exhaust
· Drive the appropriate network solutions to support the Product portfolios as well as drive product innovation based on technology capabilities
· Support Sales as needed to develop solutions and occasionally work directly with customers
· Develop processes and automation to support LEAN process approaches to solve problems
· Develop project costing and support business case development
· Guide partner organizations/suppliers to successfully implement solutions
· Drive network and process advancement
· Provide technical guidance and input on technologies for implementation and consideration


MUST HAVE FRONTIER EXPERIENCE PARTICULARLY WITH FRONTIER’S SYSTEMS

· 5-7 years of experience required
· Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Communications, Telecommunications, Computer Science
· The qualified candidate will need to have a broad network understanding
• Access networks
• FTTP/FTTN
• BBDLC network
• Ethernet Services
• Feeder/Distribution facilities
• Customer Prem solutions
• MDU/MTU solutions
• SONET
• Wireless
• Transport/Data dependencies

· Outside Plant (OSP) architectures consisting of underground, direct buried, aerial, and building applications.
· In-depth understanding of PON architectures to include centralized and distributed split, greenfield MDU/SFU, and inside wiring solutions
· Network elements associated with FTTP, FTTN, xPON, BDLC, TDM, G.Hn, Broadband services, and Active Ethernet solutions
· CPE solutions
· Database d skills which includes creation, scripting, and programming (i.e. Microsoft SQL)
· GIS experience with platforms such as ARC GIS and QGIS
· Understanding of CAD based drawing systems
· Proficiency in common offices tools such as Excel, Work, Powerpoint
· Experience with common analytics tools (i.e. Alteryx, Tableau)
· Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work cross functionally to achieve positive outcomes
· Operate from a customer centered mindset
· Works well in a team environment driven by partnerships
· Ability to work independently with minimal direction
· Understand LEAN concepts
