Qualifications

The role of an Aerial Lineman is a specialized employee who has expertise in the construction and repair of overhead plant or Coax/Fiber Lines. The Lineman also has extensive training and practical knowledge of the Coax and Fiber network makeup, its specialized equipment to service these overhead projects, and knowledge of operations and network assets for troubleshooting and repair as well as new construction.

Other Requirements

5 years+ (Preferred) of Aerial construction and repair of Coax/Fiber Lines. Drivers License required, CDL (Preferred)

Job Description

• Construction and repair of overhead Coax and Fiber service cables
• Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
• Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects
• Certified on the use of equipment: Line truck, bucket truck, cable reel equipment, saws and drills
• Ability to climb poles with climbing equipment safely
• Move and relocate Coax and Fiber service cables
• Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
• Flagger Certified for field work as needed
• Lead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor
• Vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified
• Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment
