Job Description

Overview:

This position will be leading several crews which will consist of individuals performing drilling operations, potholing, laborer related tasks including trenching as well as locating utilities. This position will require the candidate to have excellent customer service skills including leading a crew to produce high quality results in a specified time frame. This position will also act as a point of contact for municipal/city inspectors and must be able to maintain effective and consistent communication with them. Will be in charge of ensuring crews have the proper equipment that is needed and making sure that all safety rules and regulations are being followed daily. This position will be responsible for monitoring and supporting crews and subcontractors and will be responsible for required daily project updates, as well as job site resolution. This position will be working on job sites that are three hours away from the office one way. 

Responsibilities:

Oversight over various crews consisting of drilling, pot holing and excavating operations
Equipment operation including mini-excavator and HDD.
General lead over work direction within a small crew or a group of sub-contractors.
Assisting in securing site; employees and safety daily.
General maintenance of equipment as needed
Interfacing with customers, inspectors and the public frequently. 
Other foreman related tasks as assigned by direct supervisor

Qualifications:

1-2 years of work related experience in underground utility construction or telecommunications
Valid Driver's License
Class A CDL not required but preferred
Any combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates ability to perform the designated job duties and responsibilities of the position.
Ability to make common sense understanding to carry out instructions that are provided in written, oral or drawing. Ability to deal with and understand problems involving different variables in many varied situations.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts (measurements in terms of distance, proportions, percentages and area. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.
Ability to read, understand and interpret documents such as safety rules and requirements, machine manuals of operation and process procedures. Ability to write information including reports. Ability to speak effectively to customers, coworkers and vendors.
Must possess, or obtain upon employment, a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to pass a background check and company drug screening.
Must be able to attend and pass all company required training as needed.
May be required to work over-time; after hours; on weekends or be on-call as work is needed.
May include working nights and holidays.
May be required to travel in state, out of state or overnight as necessary to meet business and job requirements.
Regular and timely attendance is an essential function of this position.
