Job Description
This position will supervise our underground utility department and provide management of 20+ employees. The Project Manager will ensure all activities are executed efficiently, on time, and within funding parameters.
You can expect to:
- Oversee, organize, and implement multiple underground utility projects and jobs
- Resolve project matters such as labor, work plans, and deadlines
- Responsible for quality of work performed and manage quality control
- Maintain open communication with corporate customer representatives as it relates to the issued work
- Coordinate with other divisions of construction within the company
- Ensure field work is performed safely and in accordance with company policy
- Adapt and strategize schedules and resources as work is generally controlled by the weather
- Complete numerous reports, inspections, and job estimates
Requirements:
- On the job training provided, however, prior knowledge of directional drill, plow, pulling, locates, and all other aspects of underground utility construction are required
- Work load will be heavy during the busy summer season and must be able to work approximately 60 hours per week during that time
- Heavy phone interaction is required with the crews morning and evening up to 6 days per week
- Work both in an office setting and in the field outdoors with exposure to heat, cold, and other weather conditions
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Organized with strong work ethic and problem solving skills
- Previous people management a plus
- Class A CDL or willingness to obtain
