Job: Purpose
Perform a variety of tasks associated with the installation of Fiber Optic Cable, and managing an aerial fiber crew
Duties and Responsibilities
• Read Maps
• Build strand
• Lash Cable
• Operate equipment used in the installation of anchors
• Operate equipment used in the installation of ground Rods
• Operate equipment used in the installation cable in inner duct
• Climb telephone poles
• Tension Downguys
• Operates company vehicles and equipment safely
• Daily inspection and maintenance of company vehicles, including fluid checks, cleanliness, and organization
• Interact with Customers, and Homeowners
• Train Linemen, Apprentices and Ground Hands
• Production Reports and Time Sheets
• Vehicle inventory reports Qualifications
Qualifications
• Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
• Ability to communicate professionally with co-workers, homeowners, and customers
• Ability to climb numerous telephone poles daily up to 40 feet in height
• Ability to lift and/or pull 100 pounds several times each day
• Ability to endure long periods of standing, sitting, or walking
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year
• Class “B” driver’s license preferred
