High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Supervises in-house construction crews and subcontractor’s day to day activities
- Ensures implementation of safety and quality programs
- Issues work to in-house and subcontractor crews
- White line projects and call in dig safe tickets, track, and update
- Meet with our customers, city personnel, and local inspectors
- Process permits when required
- Reviews and approves material requests
- Reviews and approves pay sheets/invoices
- Plans, prepares, and issues projects
- All quality control functions
- Reviews and updates project schedules, cost estimates, and as-builts at completion
- Updates management of the status of work in progress, personnel availability, and project issues, as well as, update project data in databases
- Responsible for delivering a project safely and on-time
- Details the movement of personnel and equipment to and from project sites.
* Fiber optic cable placement and Aerial experience is a plus
Technical Requirements:
- 3+ year of construction or equipment installation experience, telecom experience required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good planning and organization skills to balance and prioritize work.
- Proficient with MS Excel, Word and mathematical skills required.
- Forklift experience is a must.
- Experience with using light to heavy construction equipment
- Proficient in cable design maps and as-builts
- Must be able to work under pressure and management time efficiently
- Must be highly motivated
- Must perform all duties with integrity
- Must be able to pass background and drug testing
- Must have a valid driver license with no serious violations within the last 5 years
Physical Requirements:
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 80 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
- Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
- May be required to work long and unpredictable hours
- Position requires working indoors/outdoors in all types of weather
- Ability to climb and work at elevations (e. g. from ladders, poles, lift trucks) maybe exceeding 18 feet.
