Fiber Splicing Manager

Job Description

The Splicing Manager is responsible for leading teams in the day-to-day execution of assigned fiber projects. This position will be responsible for project initiation, execution, quality assurance and control to ensure the OSP project is delivered on time, within budget, in compliance and with customer excellence.

Essential job duties include:
• Manages all subordinate employees and delegates work schedules daily.
• Prepares weekly schedules outlining work performed, location, personnel on site, and completion date to the customer. Works with Project Manager to ensure work is completed properly and advises when new work can begin.
• Attends customer meetings and acts as the subject matter expert.
• Maintains project documentation and reporting.
• Ensures reel testing is completed according to contractual obligations.
• Oversees redline entries and troubleshoots fiber issues.
• Performs quality assurance/control checks on work performed.
• Trains fiber techs and organizes travel and per diems if required.
• Diligent about safety as it relates to our workers, our customers and the Company.
• Participates and adheres to the health, safety and environmental program.
• Other duties assigned.

Education and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum five (5) years experience in the field.
• Three to Five years experience managing subordinates.
• Proficient with troubleshooting, operating OTDR and reading test results and splicing.
• Management of Subcontractors and delegation of work.

• High degree of initiative, team building and dedication to effective positive change.
• Responsible for training employees on the proper methods of fiber and splicing.
• Oversee all communications operations to ensure that all splicing and installation operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.
• Highly organized with the ability to create and modify new methods and procedures for maximum productivity, profit, tracking and reporting.
