Job Description
Benefits for Technician:
Insurance: Beginning the first of the month following sixty (60) days of employment, you will be eligible for 401k, health insurance, dental, vision and voluntary (Life, Short-Term, Long-Term Disability, Accident Plan and Critical Illness) insurance.
Paid Time-Off (PTO): You will accrue a total of 3 weeks in your first year of employment.
Take home Transit supplied by Bear, or POV allowance
Tools supplied by Bear: Meter, Fusion Splicer and hand tools
Tablet for reporting purposes
Requirements:
0-2 years experience as a Horizontal Drill Operator / Locator
Able to work in varying outside weather conditions
Pass a background check and drug test
Must have a current Driver’s License with no major violations (DUI, Fines in last 5 yrs.)
Responsibilities
Operates horizontal directional drill in accordance with blueprints and designated plans
Maintains company equipment per service requirements and safety guidelines
Assists with construction clean-up as necessary
Able to pass background check
Current driver's license with no major violations within the last 5 years
Qualifications
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred
Previous experience in standard and high-risk areas a preferred
Previous experience in underground fiber and coax construction a plus
1-2 years previous boring and rock boring experience required
Knowledge of utility depths and placements
Possess general knowledge of construction practices
Knowledge of reading and understanding blueprints is required
Knowledge of AT machines a plus
Possess a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A
Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather (i.e. snow, rain, wind, etc.) if required
In addition, the ideal candidate would have the following attributes:
Ability to work in various environments/settings with moderate to loud noise levels
Equipped to work in trenches, manholes and tunnels
Prepared to sit, stand, stop, crouch, reach and lift for long periods of time
Able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Capable to use full-range of motion in fingers, hand and wrists to operate necessary tools/equipment
