Underground Utilities Labor Hand Job Description and Responsibilities
To perform general labor and site utility work in a construction environment as necessary for commercial or residential construction projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist crew lead and/or local field management in construction work
Assist with the handling and placement of conduit and cables
Maintain equipment as necessary and according to safety specifications
Clean and prepare work sites to eliminate possible hazards
Load/unload equipment and tools
All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Education:
High school diploma or G.E.D. plus 1 years’ experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
1+ year of construction, maintenance, or labor experience
Proven knowledge of locate markings
Technical Skills:
Ability to use hand tools daily
Ability to maintain equipment
Proven proficiency in the handling/placement of conduit and cables
Must be able to follow instructions
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
Individuals must have a valid driver’s license and driving record meeting the company policy conditions
Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 75 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes
Must be able to stand for long periods of time on varied surfaces
May be required to work long and unpredictable hours in all types of weather
