Previous experience splicing fiber optic cable; Ability to read electronic and paper schematics, maps and prints and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position; Ability to work in all weather conditions; A valid driver's license with good driving record; Ability to maintain a current DOT health card; Ability to work emergency nights and weekends if needed; Be on an on-call rotation; Out-of-town travel

Physical Requirements: The work environment characteristics and physical demands are typical for the job. Reasonable accommodation may be made. Frequent stand, sit, walk; Occasional kneel, squat, bend, twist; Frequent use of sight and hearing; Ability to occasionally climb ladders and work overhead; Use of hands, feet, arms, legs; Utilize gross and fine motor skills; Occasionally lift up to 75 lbs; Work in adverse weather conditions; Work on slippery, uneven and/or other irregular surfaces

Terminates, splices and preps Fiber Optic pedestals and enclosures
Performs OTDR, power meter and PON testing with various types of equipment
Splices and repairs new and existing plant, buried and aerial cable using all types of construction methods and manufacturer procedures
Must be familiar with 3M and Commscope splicing
Mounts building entrance terminals and terminates within them
Performs cutovers and cable throws
Works with live circuits
Loads and unloads supplies
Performs general clean up
Other duties as assigned
