Job Description and Responsibilities :
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the daily management and reconciliation of owned and consigned inventory for the market.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for the execution of all warehouse operations and functional processes

Utilize the inventory management system for the daily tracking of inventory

Receive and verify accuracy of incoming shipments and returns; inspect equipment and materials upon receipt, and resolve invoice and/or packing slip discrepancies upon receipt, and resolve invoice and/or packing slip discrepancies

Per manager direction, remove materials, tools, or other stock items from vehicles, and sort and place on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code – mark materials with identifying information

Accurately and efficiently pull and distribute materials for upcoming jobs

Complete the proper documentation for all transactions

Conduct physical inventory counts on a quarterly basis

Create an efficient warehouse design to ensure maximization of space utilization

Safeguard warehouse operations and contents as per the established security protocol

Utilize material handling equipment such as forklifts, etc.

Liaise with Corporate Fleet department to manage the market’s fleet, including but not limited to vehicle assignments, routine maintenance, repairs, vehicle registration, and inspection compliance

Pick-up and deliver equipment to job sites using company box truck with varying travel times of 2 – 6+ hours

Schedule routine maintenance on vehicle to maintain the vehicle in a safe operating condition

Maintain a log book and comply with all DOT regulations

Maintain a clean work environment in the company vehicle and in the warehouse area

Requirements :
QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school; plus 0-4 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.


DECISION MAKING

Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and which would not only affect the operating efficiency of the individual involved, but would also affect the work operations of other employees and/or clientele to a slight degree.


ANALYTICAL ABILITY / PROBLEM SOLVING

Fairly broad activities using moderately structured procedures with only generally guided supervision. Interpolation of learned things in somewhat varied situations.


USE OF MACHINES, EQUIPMENT AND/OR COMPUTERS

Occasional use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, road and production machines and equipment, etc.)


PUBLIC CONTACT

Occasional routine contacts with persons outside the organization. This would include contacts with suppliers, mail service, etc.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Forklift certification required; DOT medical card preferred, not required.


SOFTWARE SKILLS REQUIRED

Intermediate: Alphanumeric Data Entry, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing Basic: Database, Enterprise Resource Planning

ADDITIONAL SKILLS

Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing, must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets Company requirements, ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. May be required to work long and unpredictable hours.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is continuously required to stand, walk, talk or hear; regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally required to sit, climb or balance. The employee must continuously lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job includes close vision, and distance vision.


ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

While performing the functions of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles; frequently exposed to work in high, precarious places, outdoor weather conditions; and occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
