$30 - $45 per hour plus lodging and meal per diem where applicable - travel is also paid by company. Position comes with all W-2 benefits per company policy including 401K, insurance, and PTO.

Preferred candidates will have 10 years plus headend experience or comparable.
Other Requirements
All tools, transportation, and test equipment will be provided.
Job Description
Job Summary:
Responsible for installing, testing, operating, maintaining, and
repairing headend equipment. Periodically tests all equipment and the
quality of signals throughout the cable network. Maintains required
logs, records, and other documentation pertaining to headend operations.
Installs new technology as projects and business partner goals require.
Conducts quality control tests and measurements on new installations.
Specific Responsibilities:
* Performs advanced headend maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure
minimal system outages
* Assists in the fault resolution of RF, IP, and Digital Video networks
* Surveys site to capture support material needs for node split projects based on the node split forecast
* Order ISP support materials Passives, cables, fiber jumper, fittings, etc.) from Engineering Depot
* Submits BOM for Headend equipment and assign nodes Upstream Downstream ITU channels as needed
* Manages site inventory and storage of node split materials
* Audit received equipment Replies to email template confirming materials has been received from Logistics Coordinator
* Documents wire runs and cable
* Oversee Installation of equipment for node splits Wiring runs for Broadcast, VOD, Sweep, Pathtrak, etc. Test and turn up new optical links, RF cabling, etc. Includes preliminary RF and optical optimization
* Handoff documents to headend for ISP QC and sign off
* Requests SM ticket and selects an available date from XOC to perform node splits activities
* Start of activities. Coordinates and completes node cutover with OSP contractor within maintenance window. Status teams at the end of activities. (SM1) Re-optimize up and downstream
* Submits an NCP request via NSR to EngOps Submits wire run document and as built from original rack elevation design to SIT Engineer
* Complete NCP node move: Implement NCP. Includes migration of CMTS ports, optimize with field for return path power levels and proper padding. Verify proper DOCSIS downstream levels to node as well as verify MER readings (SM2). DHCP or non-DHCP node moves apply. Open SMOP with XOC, close after XOC confirms before and after snapshot looks clean.
* Other out of scope items such as Broadcast build outs etc.
Additional Requirements:
* Ability to use RF, fiber optic and IP test equipment. Including basic RF meter, RF spectrum analyzer, OTDR, optical power meter and MPEG analyzer
* Data networking skills to include DOCSIS, TCP/IP, DHCP and knowledge of LANs, WANs and transport networks
* Proficient using computer and common applications including Microsoft Office products, Telnet and/or Hyperlink
* Ability to work independently with moderate supervision
