Job Description
Decisive Communications, Inc. is a turn-key, solution based organization providing a full suite of services to the telecommunications industry. We are currently in need of a Lineman 2 in New Castle, DE. The Lineman 2 works in an outside plant environment placing, rearranging and removing poles, lines, open wire, drop and block wire. As a Lineman 2, you’ll install lines and cables (including fiber) using various construction equipment. You’ll also inspect previously installed infrastructure to make sure it’s working properly.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Install and repair aerial telecommunication cables
• Repair cut or damaged telecommunication cables
• Placement of telephone poles and anchors
• Use of mechanized equipment such as bucket truck.
• Setting up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers
• Flagging traffic as needed
• Understand and follow OSHA safety requirements to complete the job(s) safely and efficiently
• Lead and direct the ground team to safely complete projects.
• Placing, relocating, and removing poles, lines, open wire, drop and block wire in order to maintain efficient operation of the customer's facilities.
• Experienced in the following tasks: New Cable Installs, Pole Transfers, Strand Building, Cable Hanging, Lashing, Over Lashing, Wreck Out, Make Readies, and Figure Eighting.
Skills & Qualifications
• 3+ years of experience in Pole Transfers, all types required
• Strong knowledge in coax, aerial and fiber construction required
• Understanding of separation and clearance regulations
• Ability to read and understand work orders
• Ability to identify all Comcast aerial equipment
• Ability to climb ladders and telephone poles and work in a bucket truck
• Ability to follow instructions
• Excellent communication skills
• Must complete two (2) or more of the SCTE classes that are offered
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor in all conditions
• Must be committed to working safely
• Ability to work on call/storm damage
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, dig, and reach
• Ability to lift 70 lbs.
• Must pass a background check and drug screen
• Valid driver’s license required

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
